Special note: Please remember that district policy states we are not allowed to give any food to the children, so if they forget their snack, it breaks my heart when there are tears :( Please try to send in a healthy, nut-free snack (or two) every day. At snack time I read a story about a boy with nut allergies and discussed what we do to keep our friends safe. The children were great at sharing their stories about their own allergies or about friends and family they knew with allergies. I told them I was allergic to dogs (sadly) even though I have one!
I was so proud of your little ones today that I nearly jumped for joy. They know that I only jump when I am over the moon! I was so impressed with how they walked so quietly in the hallway on our way to art class. Even though it was a LONG walk, the children remained quiet the entire way. They were excited to see Mr. Volpe's office, the cafeteria, and the gym!
Today, the children were introduced to our celebration jar, which is our whole group positive reinforcement reward system. They even earned 4 marbles today!! Look out for more information regarding our behavior system/celebration jar at Back to School Night next Tuesday!
Well, that's all for now. I sure am exhausted- and I'm sure you are as well!
