Today was certainly our messiest day, but definitely worth it!! Take a peek at all the activities we did today... We began our day by creating an underwater scene with stencils. Next, the children described sandcastles that they built and we even saw a video of the world's largest sandcastle. It was built at Point Pleasant Beach in New Jersey!!!! It was gigantic!!! Next, we played hot potato with a stuffed fish and then went on a seashell hunt around the room. The children used the pails they decorated from Wednesday to collect their shells. They found so many! Our activity for today was making homemade Moon Sand. The children worked together combining 5 cups of flour and 1 cup of baby oil into a large container and then mixing well. Even though flour got everywhere, the end result was pretty neat (and much less expensive then the store bought kind). We ended our day rotating through the following centers:
1. Sand Table- Moon Sand 2. Art Center- paint/decorate salt dough starfish 3. Game Center- fish ring toss/ball toss
