After a week off from school, I am happy to announce the children were able to transition back into the swing of things very smoothly. Although I saw many tired faces on Monday, the excitement of the chicks hatching soon pepped the children right up!
I first wanted to say how incredibly thankful I am for such wonderful classes. I truly am so blessed to have such an incredibly sweet and caring group of children.
What made me feel even more special was the plethora of homemade cards, birthday wishes and hugs your little ones gave to me on Wednesday. I was incredibly humbled to see the children busily working on birthday goodies for me and the smiles on their faces when they presented them to me! How adorable! They really helped to make my birthday extra special and one I will certainly never forget!
Thank you to our wonderful class moms for organizing my birthday surprise! Thank you for the beautiful flowers, homemade cards, balloons, Edible Arrangement and gift cards as well :)
In Math, the children were introduced to Function Machines. I showed them the machine and explained that when a number goes in the machine something happens to it, and a new number comes out of the machine. The rule tells what will happen to each "in" number. We practiced filling in the "out" column with the rule "add 1." We practiced this rule using several examples, and then changed the rule to "add 2.” To review Function Machines with your child, take a look at the powerpoint presentation below :)
