First and foremost I want to congratulate your adorable children on a job well done at their music concert this past Tuesday. I was so proud standing in the audience watching them all sing their little hearts out! They all worked so hard to make it so special! Thank you all so much for coming!
In other exciting news.....
Meet Jingle the Elf! She surprised the children this week with her appearance and all her challenges! I had so much fun writing secret letters from Jingle, surprising the children, and hiding her in silly places around the room! It was so cute to see the children spot her when they walked into the room every morning! Check out the pictures below :)

We also identified different shapes by feel. I introduced the "Feely Box" and noted that there were different shapes inside the bag that the children will touch but not see. I gave them clues to help them choose shapes from the bag. They LOVED this!
The next day, we learned about each other's favorite colors by creating a bar graph!

The children also learned two new letters: y-yellow-/y/ and x-fox-/ks/. There are only two more letters to go!
In Literacy, we learned two more nursery rhymes: "1, 2, 3, 4, 5" and "Little Miss Muffet." We circled our sight words and found all the rhyming words! The children also practiced counting to 10 by using their fingers, recording dots on a ten frame, and drawing tally marks to the song "1, 2, 3, 4, 5." The next day, they acted out "Little Miss Muffet." The giggling was contagious!
* I did NOT meet with my Guided Reading groups this week due to our music rehearsals. We did, however, read "I can See the Holiday Fun!" together as a class. The children filled in the missing beginning sounds and highlighted their sight words. I told the children they can put this book in their reading folder to practice at home :)
Warm Regards,
Mrs. Nork
