Even though this was a short week, it was still full of learning and fun! In Math, the children continued working on their number scrolls. They are becoming sooooo long!! It's getting pretty tough to fit them in the paper towel tubes!
In Literacy, we constructed our very own insects. The children were given three separate heads, three thoraxes, and three abdomens to decorate and were told to create insects out of them. They glued them onto a piece of construction paper and added their six legs, pair of antennae, and wings (only if they wanted). They came out adorable!!
- Writing Center: Children wrote a true story in their journals.
- Tablets: Children practiced a variety of math and literacy skills.
- Math Center: Symmetrical insects- Children drew the other half of the insect and/or colored the insect so it was symmetrical.
- Word Work: Children looked at the picture and wrote the CVC word. Others created their own pictures and words.
- ABC Center- Children identified the beginning sound for each picture to reveal a CVC word.
