In Math the children learned position words. I introduced this concept by sharing the video: Where's the Monkey. The children loved it so much I shared it with you below :)
Following the video, we read “Where is the Apple?” as a class (also shared below). The children wowed me with their amazing reading. They used the picture clues to help them read the words!
Finally, I gave a "quiet friend" (plush toy) to each child. I then used spatial vocabulary as I gave directions to position the toy (i.e. place your quiet friend on top of your head, in front of you, under your legs, next to your friend, between your knees). It was so rewarding to hear all the giggles and excitement in the room.

Then, I invited the kiddos to come up with other ways to show 4.
Then, the children made representations for other numbers by showing their number four different ways.
They did such a great job! Take a look :)
In Literacy, we began our Nursery Rhyme Unit. First, we read "Humpty Dumpy" and the children found and circled the rhyming words. Then, the kiddos completed a sequencing activity.
-Reading Center- Children read a Thanksgiving emergent reader and filled in the sight word “the.”
-Writing Center- Children wrote and illustrated what they are thankful for.
-Write the Room- Children searched for each object around the room and recorded how many on their recording sheet.
-Math Center- Children rolled the cube and added the correct shape to build their turkey.
- Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week are half days!
Wishing you all a peaceful and relaxing weekend!
Many Blessings,
Mrs. Nork
