Then, I invited the kiddos to come up with other ways to show 4.
Then, the children made representations for other numbers by showing their number four different ways.
The next day, the kiddos "showed off" their hard work by standing up in front of the class and displaying their work for the rest of the class to see. I was so impressed with how well the children took turns, and listened to other ideas- they are so grown up!
We also read lines from the story and the children found the corresponding picture to place in the pocket chart.
- Writing Center- Children wrote the beginning sound for each picture in Thanksgiving emergent reader.
- Tablet Center- Children read stories on RAZ-Kids.
- Write the Room- Children searched for Thanksgiving themed pictures around the room and counted and wrote how many.
- Math Center- Children rolled the cube and added the correct shape to their turkey.
- Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week are half days!
Wishing you all a peaceful and relaxing weekend!
Many Blessings,
Mrs. Nork
