In Math, the children started their number books. Your child has been practicing number rhymes to help with number formation. Ask your child to teach them to you at home :) We will finish these books next week.
The children excitedly filled out their voting ballots and placed them in our ballot box. Then, we gathered to the rug and counted and tallied the votes. Both the morning class and the afternoon class thought Duck would make a better leader. Not only was this activity fitting for Election Day, but it also reinforced tally marks and counting. Take a look at our results below!
- Pattern Center- Children selected a pattern card and used bears to create and extend the pattern.
- Word Work Center: Children wrote the beginning sound for each picture.
- Writing Center- Children wrote a true story about themselves by drawing a detailed picture and stretching out the sounds they heard.
- Math Center- Children rolled a ten frame die and colored in the corresponding number of dots on their ten frame.

Well, that concludes our short little week! I hope that everyone enjoys the long weekend! I look forward to meeting with you soon for conferences. They begin next Friday!
Please note that if your child logs on to RAZ-Kids (I sent home a letter with their username and password), they can earn points by reading!
Take Care,
Mrs. Nork
