In Math, the children compared objects of different lengths by using words like longer, shorter, same length, etc. I had a "longer" tray and a "shorter" tray. and put a marker between the trays. The kiddos compared the lengths of other objects to the marker in the middle and placed their object in the correct tray.
Following the video, we read “Where is the Apple?” as a class (also shared below). The children wowed me with their amazing reading. They used the picture clues to help them read the words!
Finally, I gave a "quiet friend" (plush toy) to each child. I then used spatial vocabulary as I gave directions to position the toy (i.e. place your quiet friend on top of your head, in front of you, under your legs, next to your friend, between your knees). It was so rewarding to hear all the giggles and excitement in the room.

- Writing Center- Children wrote a true story about themselves by drawing a detailed picture and stretching out the sounds they heard.
- Math Center- Children rolled a number on a ten frame die and colored in the corresponding number on a recording sheet with the matching color.
Please note that if your child logs on to RAZ-Kids (I sent home a letter with their username and password), they can earn points by reading!
