I want to start by sharing some class highlights from this past week :)
My adorable kinder cuties have been working really hard remembering our class rules. We discussed why rules keep us safe and what rules they would come up with if they were Mrs. Nork. They had such great ideas! After reviewing each of our six rules and reviewing our "Good Listeners" Anchor Chart, I read one of my favorite books about a boy named David who has a hard time remembering the rules in his classroom called "David Goes to School." Please review our class rules with your child below :)
1. Listen when someone is talking.
2. Follow directions the first time they are given.
3. Treat everyone with kindness and respect.
4. Take care of our school and classroom.
5. Work and play safely and quietly.
6. Its ok to make mistakes.
In Fundations, the children learned the proper writing position and how to hold a pencil. This week we also learned letters t and b. The students completed a variety of activities that reinforced these letters/sounds throughout the week including echoing (repeating) the letter-keyword-sound, skywriting, and sound dictation. Ask your child to "echo" or repeat the Large Sound Cards below!
