To wrap up the month of September, the children opened up their new science journals and tallied the number of sunny days, rainy days, cloudy days, and partly cloudy days, We analyzed our data and concluded that during the month of September we had the most partly cloudy days.
In Fundations, the children were introduced to letters i and u. We spent a lot of time talking about vowels and how important they are. Ask them to sing the "vowel song" to you :) I've included it below! We also reviewed that sentences have capital letters at the beginning and periods at the end.

• Does your shape remind you of anything?
• Do you see anything in the classroom that looks like your shape?
• Why do you think that object looks like your shape? How are they alike? Different?
• How are your shape and your partners shape different? Alike?

• Writing Center: Children completed their "Me" books.
• Puzzle Center: Children worked together to put the puzzle pieces in ABC order.
• Playdough Center: Children rolled their play dough to form the number on their mat, recorded the number of dots in the ten frame and practiced writing their number.
• Math Center: Children rolled a die and counted the dots. Then, they found the number on their mat and traced it.
• ABC Center: Children spun a spinner and wrote their name the "Kindergarten Way" with the color they landed on on their recording sheet.
The next day, the kiddos put books in height order from shortest to tallest. They noticed the staircase the books made when they were in height order too!
Finally, we worked together to put OURSELVES in height order. We started with 2 or 3 children. We compared and ordered them until the whole class found their "place."
Well, that about wraps up our week! I hope everyone has a fantastic long weekend! For those of you celebrating Rosh Hashanah- ENJOY your day :)
Warm Regards,
Mrs. Nork
